Woke up this morning and once again felt horrible. I took my allergy medicine…chasing it down with pepto-bismol.
I was not able to get up at 5 am like I wanted to because my body just wouldn’t let me. I wanted to talk to whoever was online around 12 at night…but…I just couldn’t get up out of bed.
Finally around 7 I got online this morning and went to the computers…and then to breafast where I ate little breakfast cookies they sell here…and water.
Then I researched my seminar on Ancient Society. I’m still not sure how these seminars will work…but…I’ll figure it out sooner or later. For now I’m going to go through cultural tradtions for the periods that lived in the Oasis. I must say, I am very interested in this area…especially after seeing the site…There’s alot to learn…
But today I was just too sick. It was hard to focus…if I was outside I was too hot, if I was inside…I was too cold. It’s weird. Lissette was also sick. After we both ate breakfast cookies for lunch…she came over to my room and curled up in Margret’s bed while I curled up in mine and we watched Some Like It Hot. What a wonderful movie…I love it…we didn’t get to finish it by the time we had our seminar.
Andrea gave the first seminar on natural resources. It was really neat to learn about how the land formed. Her seminar was great…now I only worry about my own. She went really fast, she was drugged up on caffine and sugar…She felt sick yesterday too…but apparently the caffine made her feel better. I am not going to take the chance on my caffine allergy.
Sticking to the 7-up and rice…
I also learned how natron affected trade routes. Natron was used in mummification. I had funny learning about how the Egyptians “Pickled their Pets” for a votive offering to the temple. All I could think about was Jamie’s cat Stinky Pete.
I got my laundry back too. So I folded it before dinner. Some of my yellow shirts came out tan though…weird?
Then I went to dinner, and came here to continue to work on my journal and upload more pictures. I can’t seem to check my e-mail…is really screwing up their website…it sucked before…but now it just blows.
Anyway, I shouldn’t hog the computer here anymore. I’m going to bed.
